You have probably heard about the People’s Climate March—it’s been featured in Rolling Stone, Earth Island Journal, and Huffington Post.

The situation: Ban Ki-Moon has invited world leaders to a United Nations climate summit in New York City, September 20-21. This presents us with a chance to “bend the course of climate history,” as 350.org has put it.

The plan: We will gather en masse at the same time and place as the climate summit. The march will be big (we are pushing for more than 250,000 people), festive (artists are even now hard at work on the march’s visuals), and family-oriented (safe, lawful, and open to all who aspire to a just transition to a livable future). Together we can make a statement so extraordinary, so unambiguous, so clear and forceful that the leaders of our own and other countries cannot fail to be encouraged to act on climate.

To change everything, we need everyone on board.

Sunday, September 21

New York City.
