Support Protect South Portland - and vote FOR the Waterfront Protection Ordinance

Join 350 Maine in support of the Protect South Portland (PSP) Campaign to ensure passage of the anti-tar sands ordinance on the Fall ballot.

On Wednesday, September 11th, PSP had their “Kick-Off, Training and Office Opening” @ 72 Ocean St., Suite 105, South Portland (across the street from the Bridgeway Restaurant). prosopo.jpg

You don’t need to be from SoPo to help – this issue affects all of us! Big Oil has nearly unlimited money to spend on this election.

But, as Bill McKibben has said, we have a different currency: people power!  Come work with the whole team, learn about the path to victory on Nov. 5th, and get trained in effective messaging and the basic skills we need to win this campaign.

Consider these opportunities to support the effort:

  • Participate in PSP canvassing each weekend (starting on the weekend of the 14thuntil Election Day). Volunteers will meet at the PSP office on Saturdays from 10:00-1:00 and Sundays from 12-3.
  • PSP will be having Volunteer Recruitment Phone-Calling every Tuesday from 6:00-8:30 pm at the office. PSP will also be having a “Get Out The Vote” Phone Bank every Thursday at the office from 6:00-8:30 pm.
  • PSP supporters continue their "Standing FOR the Waterfront Protection" gathering on the Casco Bay Bridge (northeastern/South Portland side). Every Wednesday evening from 5 to 6 pm. See this link for more information.
