The Bowdoin College Sustainability Office and the Environmental and Film Studies Departments present “Shored Up”.

A documentary film that comprehensively examines the issues around sea level rise, featuring two case examples — Long Beach Island, NJ and North Carolina barrier islands—will be shown at Bowdoin College at the Smith Auditorium in Sills Hall on Thursday evening, Oct. 24 starting at 7:30pm. The film is free and open to the public

Film producers will be Skyped in following the film to answer questions. Students organizing the film are putting together a panel of Maine experts for a later date who will discuss the issue as it affects communities in the greater Brunswick area, Maine, and elsewhere.

The documentary director's previous film credits include "A Sea Change", an internationally acclaimed presentation on ocean acidification and climate change.
