350 Maine's approach to climate change organizing is to create space for those concerned about the planet's health and the trajectory of our fossil fuel consumption.
Within that space we are determined to fight back against a political and economic system that says we are not allowed to challenge the status quo or offer alternatives to our destructive habits. Because we know that a "better world is possible" we strive to create those realities from the bottom up.
Though we consider ourselves part of a larger global climate justice movement, we also know that some of the most important work we can do is right here in our backyards, in our towns and communities, and in this lovely state of Maine we call home.
With all that in mind, we have welcomed the creation of regional groups across the state that are self-organizing and self-determining the course of their activism. We all come together to support one another, leveraging our collective strength and resources, but also allow for smaller groups to take the lead in their own fights and the championing of their own initiatives.
