Every year indigenous elders in Alberta, Canada, lead the Healing Walk, a pilgrimage through tar sands ground zero, to shine a light on how this industry directly impacts their communities. It's a critical part of the movement to resist tar sands. For this year's walk, local 350 groups are working to bring together grassroots leaders from all across the country—including Maine—who are working to protect their communities from the risks of tar sands and other extreme energy.
